P.E NATION BASELINE - WITH DINA BROADHURST

At P.E Nation, we’ve always aspired to create our brand for all women. To be worn all day, every day. P.E Nation Baseline underpins our P.E creativity with a strong core. It is high-performance, premium quality and made to fit into any lifestyle, any day, anywhere. It is also our most sustainable basics collection yet. These are your go-to favourites, both supportive and easy-to-wear to help you make the most of every day.

When considering our P.E Nation muses, the common thread of those who inspired, was that they were all strong, independent women that manage their busy lives with an unwavering dedication to their families, and to keeping themselves and those around them healthy and happy.

Over the coming months, we will highlight six incredible women we admire, that will become the faces of our P.E Nation Baseline. Truth, embracing life’s setbacks, creating balance, the importance of spending time in nature, and a deep love for family and friends power these everyday women that are doing it all. Simply put, getting back to basics.

Our fourth muse, Dina Broadhurst, is a creative powerhouse. With an all-encompassing natural beauty that is hard to look away from, this effervescent artisan is best known for her unmistakably stylish and sensual artwork, and for creating a stunning visual language that is truly unique.

Guided by a dedication to her family and a desire to share her experiences with others truthfully, this dynamic and multi-tasking woman keeps the wheels turning by continuously moving forward and focusing on the basics. To stay grounded in her busy day-to-day Dina takes time out to be around water, bust out a sweat session or take a refreshing coastal walk with her family.

We asked Dina to tell us about what’s most important to her and here is what she said:

What or who do you define as your core, your core purpose? My core purpose is to share my story, to be open, to be true, to be full and to hopefully inspire or help others to be more open willing and accepting of their differences. That their difference, their uniqueness, is their greatest asset.

What is your greatest personal passion? What makes you thrive personally?
Family of course. Their love their support is everything and just having them to give love to is always so grounding and a never-ending feeling of achievement and reward.

What is your greatest professional passion? What makes you thrive professionally?
To create and give things new life. To find beauty in Rubbish, in the discarded, to find new uses for things and new ways of seeing and creating a visual language or message. Recycling and reimagining what has already been produced.

How do you use your unique voice and platform to share your vision?
I think I just try to be as real and true to myself as I can without fear of being judged or societies boundaries. In creating this freedom for myself I also feel it gives others a sense of freedom in return or a sense of confidence. And on the flip side even the negative stir in others is a feeling that is created and if I can create feeling or emotion I am satisfied as to feel something is everything.

Where does your inspiration come from? My emotions, my close relationships, my past scars and my past influences especially during my teenage years that were filled with so much heavy emotion.

How do you keep going despite real life/mum/work/relationship jugggles? I keep going as it creates my calm my balance and my harmony. If I don’t I go crazy so it’s like my meditation. I need to do this to release and refresh myself and to work through my emotions. Multi-tasking and doing keeps me ticking and keeps me living.

If you can, what do you do for you every day?
Anything to do with water. A swim, a bath, a sweat session. My favourite thing is an early morning or late afternoon walk on the beach with my family and my puppy.

What do you do to take things back to basics?
I’m pretty fuss free and makeup free most days and I love being barefoot as much as I can.

What is on the horizon for you? What is that silver lining?
An art book and some major sensory exhibitions and art parties at my new CASA Studio headquarters.

What sparks joy in you?
Light, colour and love.

If you had one dream that could become a reality tomorrow, what would that be?
A beach house on the water that I could create from scratch.
