Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.

Ah Utah. Home to the skiers-only paradise Deer Valley Resort, famous for having the “greatest snow on earth” (thanks largely to the Great Salt Lake effect) and renowned for offering a slew of ideal ski conditions; just as the North American ski season takes full flight, you come calling. Lucky for us, P.E. Nation Co-founders Pip Edwards and Claire Tregoning were armed and ready with our latest snow collection which was primed for a serious test-run

Located in the iconic mountain town of Park City, Deer Valley’s fortune lies in the pristine snow-covered mountains that surround it; its notable eclectic character shaped by visionary pioneers, independent artists, and authentic ski legends that’d long been there before us. Today, the beauty of Deer Valley is that there’s a little something here for everyone, and really, there are few places that have accessibility to such world class skiing. The grooming and lift system are impeccable, the ski school is one of the best in the USA, and regardless of what Mother Nature is dictating there’s always straight skiing to be had.

While Deer Valley offers over 2000 acres of wide-open terrain and runs filled with Utah’s signature powder, what further sets this resort apart is their ‘best in the industry’ customer service or what they refer to as ‘first-class service in the mountains’. It’s a thing. And it’s weaved right throughout their access to Ikon pass, the pass that takes you to 41 iconic mountains around the globe, luxury lodging, award winning ski school, curb side ski valets, daily mountain host tours, and in-town car service, provided by – of course - Cadillac. But let’s get back to the skiing.

To get the real lay of the land when you arrive, we recommend heading out on a complimentary Mountain Host Tour. Not only will you get the ins and outs of the resort’s terrain, you’ll discover new runs and secret powder stashes with the locals who ski them. Then, it’s game on.

If your legs could do with a rest but you’re still interested in enjoying the wide-open consistent terrain and blue bird skies, Summit Meadows Adventures offer guided snowmobile tours – individually or in groups. For those P.E. Nationers with snowmobiling on their bucket list, we can absolutely advocate exploring in Browns Canyon, where you can expect incredible views of the Wasatch Mountains, and a pinch yourself moment (or two).

For the foodies, this place does not disappoint. With over 20 eateries to choose from a solid dining experience offers everything from casual, family-friendly cafés and grills, to high-brow fare. Forget greasy food in the ski lodge; Deer Valley’s impeccable customer service continues right throughout their food offering.

After a full day, you’re going to want to bunker down in a little bit of luxe before you gear up to do it all again tomorrow, and The Lodges offer hotel rooms to three-bedroom condominiums which are fully equipped with all the trimmings. Think on-site amenities such as complimentary hot breakfast during ski season, Deer Valley ski rental shop and lift ticket desk, fitness facility, concierge services, general store and coffee bar, outdoor heated pool and of course, a hot tub. Because, were you even in a snow town if there wasn’t a hot tub?

We tried and we tested our gear in a no holds-barred Utah snow adventure that was as fun as it was exhilarating, and we wouldn’t change a thing. Our Snow Collection is available to shop now.
